The CHB College 1st XI are holding a car wash to fundraise for their tournament, in a couple of weeks

There will also be a sausage sizzle, bake sale and a grocery raffle. Plus some Sheep Manure for sale too. 

The boys are keen and eager to raise some money and get the best looking clean cars in CHB

Norsewood and District 150 year Celebrations Labour weekend 2022

Norsewood and Districts School will combine with the village to celebrate it’s 150 years milestone too. Please start spreading the word about the school reunion amongst family and friends.

If you have any old local photos that you may wish to share for our celebrations, please scan and email them to norsewoodmuseum@gmail.com

We are appealing to you to submit recipes which are special or traditional to your culture or family. .  Please feel free to include anecdotes, photos or stories around why these are special – we’d love to include those in the book. 

As part of our celebrations next year, we would like to create a recipe book consisting of recipes reflecting the unique heritage and diverse cultures of Norsewood and surrounding districts.

Steady As You Go is a strength and balance exercise programme designed to improve your leg strength, flexibility, general fitness and wellbeing to prevent falls and injuries. 

This class is  held at 9:30am every Tuesday at the Masonic Hall for one hour.

Winter Warmers - Elske Centre - Dannevirke - Every Wednesday in July


Every Wednesday in July the Elske Centre welcomes our seniors in the community to join us for a FREE hot lunch.

Come and check them out from 12.00pm to 1.00pm and enjoy hearty soup and buns to warm yourself up.

The Elske Centre is situated in the St Johns Hall, 174 High Street, Dannevirke (behind the Church) and are a community centre offering friendship and activities for older people.

Cuppa and Chat with Age Concern - Second & Last Friday of the month

Cuppa & Chat will now be running in the Masonic Hall (in the room opposite the Housie) and Morning Tea and is for any of those that are wanting to get together socially, but Housie isn't for them. This will be held from 9.30am—11am on the second and last Friday of the month and the cost is $3.

St John Health Shuttle Service

A St John Health Shuttle service (formerly run by NZ Red Cross) is available in many local communities to provide transport to medical and health related appointments.

Shuttles are available in the following areas: Waipukurau, Porangahau, Hastings, Waimarama, Wairoa, Tuai and Mahia
All shuttle services operate Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. (The service is run by volunteers and there is no fee, however donations are accepted to help cover costs).
