CHB Museum AGM
Wednesday 20th August | 6.30pm
CHB Musuem, High Street, Waipawa
Special guest speaker – Jenni Giblin, a respected fundraiser who has worked with museums large and small across Aotearoa. Jenni played a key role in getting the NZ museum in Le Quesnoy, France, off the ground and will be sharing insights into museum fundraising and development.
A new committee will be appointed, and the Museum is keen to hear from anyone interested in joining. If you’re passionate about history, heritage, or just want to lend a hand, contact the museum or simply head along on the day.
Waipukurau Rotary Club Fundraiser

Idea's wanted!
The organising committee want to make this two –day event a celebration for everyone, and they need your help to make it memorable. They’re reaching out to all local community groups, clubs, schools, and orgainsations.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Share your ideas: What kind of activities, events, static displays, demonstration games, activities would you like to share? Are there any traditions, stories, or cultural elements you want to highlight?
Get your group involved: The would love to see community groups, clubs, and schools participate in this celebration. Whether it’s hosting an event, providing entertainment, or contributing in any way, your involvement will be crucial to making this a success.

After-hours access is now available at Te Huinga Wai - The Knowledge and Learning Hub (Waipukurau Library).
Once this membership is added on to your library card you can access the building after hours until 11pm each day, including Saturday after 1.30pm and all day Sunday. This space can be used to run night classes, hold meetings, study, or you can approach us if you have an idea about how you could be using the library after hours. Business and Professional Women Central Hawkes Bay 2nd Chance Scholarship applications are now open.

Onga Onga 150 Years Jubilee Parade
Planning is well underway for the Onga Onga 150th Jubilee celebrations – and now’s the time to register your float for the big parade on Saturday, October 18th!
Organisers are calling for all floats, vintage vehicles, and walking groups to pre-register. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this historic event!

CHB Water Restrictions - Level 2
As of Thursday May 29th all of Central Hawke's Bay is on Level 2 water restrictions.
SPRINKLER & HOSES ONLY ON ALTERNATE DAYS
Watering gardens
Odds and evens apply, so odd numbered houses can use sprinklers and hoses on odd date days of the month and even numbered houses can use sprinklers and hoses on even date days of the month.
Sprinklers can only be used for one hour, before 9 am and after 5 pm.
Hoses fitted with a trigger nozzle can be used before 10 am and after 4 pm but cannot be left running unattended.
Watering cans and buckets are permitted.
Washing of vehicles and/or buildings
Washing of vehicles and/or buildings is permitted only with a hose fitted with a trigger nozzle.
Swimming pools
Residents are permitted to top-up swimming pools or spas.
Hard surfaces
Hosing of hard surfaces as part of general cleaning is NOT permitted. Spot cleaning for health, safety or emergency reasons only is permitted.

The Hippocampe all-terrain wheelchair is free to book for your summer adventures! The new wheelchair can be used on the beach, trails, forest walks and parks. It is easily transportable, can go into the water and has interchangeable wheels for either beach or land use - it is seriously amazing! CHB Community Patrols - Volunteers Wanted
Community Patrols Waipukurau are looking for volunteers to help with evening community patrols across Waipukurau & Waipawa. Patrols usually take 2-2.5 hours, and volunteers patrol in teams of two. Volunteers can expect to be patrolling schools and businesses, checking for insecure buildings, damage and looking out for suspicious activity which is reported directly to local police.
