Twenty local graduates took to the stage at the CHB Municipal Theatre last week for a Mayoral Graduation Ceremony.
Graduates from a variety of fields were joined by family, employers and trade representatives, as they received their qualifications from Mayor Alex Walker last Wednesday evening.
Ms Walker said every single graduate worked so hard to upskill and did so by continuing their education in Central Hawke’s Bay.
She said the ceremony was also a celebration of employers who have dedicated time and effort to supporting our youth and helping to keep their skills within our communities.

ANZ Bank will close its Waipukurau Branch for earthquake strengthening this month.
The branch will be closed from Thursday the 17th of November until Monday the 19th of December.
Originally, the closure was set to begin from tomorrow, however the bank changed the dates following complaints from local businesses.
During the closure period, ANZ customers will have to travel to Dannevirke or Hastings.
Central FM has asked ANZ for comment on the closure, as well as comment on an initial offer for a weekly cash run for businesses, that was later withdrawn.
The bank hadn’t responded to our requests by this morning.

The water supply for Dannevirke will be shutdown for about three hours this afternoon.
The Tararua District Council says the shutdown, between 1pm and 4pm, is to allow for the installation of a new valve on Queen Street.
Once the work is completed, the water network will be flushed, which could cause cloudy water.
The Council says anyone that experiences this should run a tap for 10 to 15 minutes, which should resolve the issue.
