Local company Isaacs Plumbing, Pumping and Electrical has donated a set of Te Mata Estate Coleraine vintage wines for the upcoming Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction.

Te Mata Coleraine is regarded as one of the best red wines in New Zealand, and a 26-vintage vertical set, which covers the period from 1994 to 2020, has been donated by Isaacs for the September 17 auction.

2022 is the 30th year the Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction will be held.

The Central Hawke’s Bay District Council is reminding dog owners to ensure their properties are fully contained, and that their dogs are on a lead and under control in public spaces.

Councils’ Animal Services Team has attended nearly 50 incidents so far this year where unsupervised dogs have either injured or frightened members of the public.

The Council says lately they’ve noticed a concerning jump in this trend.

The third Between the Lines Readers and Writers Festival begins today.

The first events in the Festival are a young writers workshop; as well as look at all things rugby, featuring author Gregor Paul, sports commentator Tony Johnson, and ex-All Black John Ashworth today.

Tomorrow, historical novelist Jenny Pattrick will talk about her latest book at an event at Gwavas; along with a literary lunch at Nola Café Waipawa; and Ben Brown and Dr Simon Barber will look at the Power of Words tomorrow night at Te Aute College.

Further events will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
