Two Lotto players from the region won just over $23,000 following Saturday nights Lotto draw.

A MyLotto player from the region joined a ticket sold in Napier, along with eight others from around the country, in winning Lotto Second Division.

Precautionary boil water notices for two Tararua towns were lifted on Friday.

The Tararua District Council removed the notices for Eketāhuna and Pongaroa water supplies late Friday afternoon.

The Eketāhuna precautionary boil water notice had been in place since mid-July, with Pongaroa’s notice put in place on the 11th of August.

A look at weekend sports results :

  • The Dannevirke Tigers Ruby League team continued their winning form, with a 38-22 win over Linton Cobras on Saturday. The Tigers scored seven tries in the game.
  • Central Hawke’s Bay has retained the Trevor White Memorial. Three games of junior rugby were played between CHB and Dannevirke, with CHB winning the U9 and U11 games, and Dannevirke winning the U13.
  • Whanganui Development beat the Central Hawke’s Bay Rep Rugby team on Saturday. Played at Coronation Park in Waipawa, Whanganui won 21-18.
  • The Magpies had a 43-17 win over the Manawatu Turbos in Palmerston North yesterday. Hawke’s Bay ran in six tries to Manawatu’s two, with the Bay leading 19-17 at half-time.
