Former Napier City Council Chief Executive Neil Taylor will fill the acting role of Chief Executive for the Central Hawke’s Bay District Council.

Mr Taylor, who lead the Napier council for 20 years, takes over from Monique Davidson, who finished on Friday.

In a statement on Friday, Council said Mr Taylor would take a “light approach” as Chief Executive, with high governance confidence in the capability of the Leadership Team. 

An announcement on a permanent Chief Executive is expected in the coming weeks.

A former student of Takapau School and Central Hawke’s Bay College has been made a District Court Judge.

Sarah Morrison, nee Black, has been a lawyer for more than 20 years, specialising in family law.

A barrister since 2019, Ms Morrison is an approved Lawyer for Child, Lawyer for Subject Person, Lawyer to Assist, a member of the Law Society’s National Friends Panel and a Standards Committee Convenor.

Judge Morrison will be sworn in on the 2nd of May and will take up her appointment with a Family Court warrant in the Waitakere District Court.

Sarah is the daughter of well-known community members, Graeme and Margaret Black.

The Hawke’s Bay DHB’s outreach team will be at rural locations in CHB again this week to make RAT kits easier to access.

• Onga Onga (across from the general store) Tuesday 12 April from 1pm - 4pm

• Pourerere Beach on the beach front Wednesday 13 April from 1pm - 4pm.
