Tararua District Council has put a Precautionary Boil Water Notice in place for residents connected to the Eketauna water supply.
In a media release last night, the Council said raw water from the Makakahi River is coming in with turbidity levels higher than the current water treatment plant is able to treat to meet the NZ Drinking Standards.
Residents are urged to boil water before drinking, food preparation, preparing infant formula and brushing teeth.
After nearly five years at the helm, today is Monique Davidson’s last day as Chief Executive of the Central Hawke’s Bay District Council.
Mrs Davidson will take over running the Horowhenua District Council.
Mayor Alex Walker said Monique has achieved a huge amount in council and in the community, and wished her well in her new position.
She said Council are very close to finding a replacement Chief Executive.
With the club rugby season beginning soon, a pre-season game is being played at Porangahau tomorrow.
Porangahau Sports Club will play Dannevirke at 2pm tomorrow.
After being delayed by COVID-19 restrictions, the Parkrun event will launch in Central Hawke’s Bay tomorrow.
Parkrun – which is a free, fun and friendly weekly 5km event – will launch at Russell Park in Waipukurau.
A briefing will be held at 7.45 tomorrow morning, with the event starting at 8am.
Anyone wanting to take part is asked to register beforehand on the website www.parkrun.co.nz/russellpark, print off their barcode, and bring to each Parkrun event.
The Air Force Heritage Flight of New Zealand will take to the skies again tomorrow in support of the RNZAF’s 85th Birthday celebrations.
An Avenger, two Beechcraft T-6C Texan IIs, and a Spitfire will fly over local areas at the following times on Saturday :
