Commissioners have begun hearing submissions on the Central Hawke’s Bay Councils’ new District Plan.
Three independent commissioners join three Councillor Commissioners on the panel.
On Monday and Tuesday this week the panel heard from submitters related to the natural and coastal environment.
This was the first of seven topics to be heard, with the remainder of the hearings expected to be wrapped up by the end of September.
Hearings are open to the public, and will be streamed on-line.
The Commissioners recommendations are expected to be presented to Council early in 2023.
