46 new cases of COVID-19 were announced for Hawke’s Bay over the weekend.

Saturday’s update from the Ministry of Health had 22 new cases listed in the region, with 24 yesterday.

There are currently 120 active cases in Hawke’s Bay, with 92 cases listed as being recovered.

There are still no active COVID-19 cases in Tararua District.

The MidCentral District Health Board announced 25 new cases over the weekend, giving a total of 48 active cases.

The Tararua District Council has extended a Precautionary Boil Water Notice for Eketahuna until at least tomorrow.

The notice was first issued on the 7th of February due to high turbidity levels in the Makakahi River following continuous rain.

The Council said the Makakihi River had reached the highest level it had in 12 months following the recent rain.

Council will provide an update tomorrow.

Napier Old Boys Marist took out the Murray McKearney T20 Cup following a win over the Waipawa Butchery CHB Premiers on Friday night.

Played at Forest Gate Domain, Marist went into bat first, finishing on 150/2 at the end of their 20 overs.

In reply, Central were bowled out 45 runs short of their target.

The search for a new Chief Executive for the Central Hawke’s Bay District Council is underway.

The 3-week campaign launched on Friday with the position advertised on multiple platforms, and a special video featuring Mayor Alex Walker also made.

Ms Walker said that ensuring the right fit of a new Chief Executive for the Central Hawke’s Bay District Council whānau and community is a huge responsibility and an exciting challenge for her and the district’s Councillors.
