Leading New Zealand singer Julia Deans will play two shows in Central Hawke’s Bay next week.

Deans, who fronted the band Fur Patrol, will play at the Argyll Community Hall and the OngaOnga Community Hall as part of the Small Hall Sessions.

Extra precautions have been put in place by organisers under the Red Traffic Light setting.

The Argyll show is on Thursday February 17, with OngaOnga the following night.

Applications are now being taken for the next round of funding under the Creative Communities Scheme.

The fund is available for distribution to local groups, or individuals for the funding of local arts projects and activities, including workshops, exhibitions, concerts and youth arts events.

Applications close with the Central Hawke’s Bay District Council next Friday the 18th.

Applications must meet one or more of three funding criteria, which are available on the Council website.
