Two of the Tararua District Councils’ Service Centres are about to undergo upgrades.
Work on the Dannevirke Service Centre will begin later this month, followed by Pahiatua in January.
Both buildings require earthquake strengthening – with Pahiatua’s building only at 10% of the New Building Standard, and Dannevirke at less than 34%.
Customer service staff working at the Dannevirke Service Centre will temporarily relocate to the Tararua Business Network from December 20th, with the Pahiatua customer services team relocating to the Town Hall from January 18 while the works are undertaken.

Emergency services were called after a car overturned on Porangahau Road yesterday.
The accident happened about 12.45pm between Bush Road and Ugly Hill Road.
One person was said to have been taken to Hawke’s Bay Hospital with serious injuries.

The finals day for the Stevenson and Taylor Social T20 Cricket Competition was held at the Sherwood Cricket Ground last Sunday.
In the playoff for third between Wallingford and Onga-Tiko saw the Onga-Tiko side bat first, finishing on 120 for 7.
In reply, Wallingford were able to chase that total down with eight wickets in hand and eight overs remaining.
In the days main game between Sherwood and Waipawa, Sherwood finished on 113 all out.
Waipawa reached the total with seven wickets and seven overs to spare to take the Stevenson and Taylor Cup.
Spokesperson Mark Boderick sad the trophy for the most runs in the competition went to Tom Holden from Onga-Tiko with 79 runs.
Colin Tyler from the Sherwood team took the trophy for the most wickets, with five.
Mark Boderick said it was a very successful first competition with all games played in great spirit.
He thanked major sponsor Stevenson and Taylor and the Sherwood Cricket Club for hosting the event.
