Potential Covid case visits Central Hawke's Bay

A truck driver delivering furniture to a building used by the Central Hawke’s Bay District Council has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, with staff working in the building now isolating.

The driver visited the building, at the old Railway Station, on Wednesday of this week, with the Council notified by the trucking company that the driver had tested positive, however this is yet to be confirmed by health authorities.

Council Chief Executive Monique Davidson has been quoted by the CHB Mail newspaper as saying that “staff who had been working there were asked to go home immediately, as a precaution”.

The risk to staff at the building and to the wider community was said to be “low”.
