A Porangahau man will face a number of charges when he appears in Court next month following an incident in the township at the weekend.

Senior Constable Andy Walker said it was a nasty sort of incident after the 45 year old was asked to leave an address in Porangahau but went back and broke through the doors, and confronted somebody inside.

Mr Walker said while being transported to Hastings, the man made a number of threats towards two officers including threatening to kill and rape them.

The man also allegedly spat on the officers.

Meanwhile Rotary is also running a number of online auctions prior to Friday, with details on the Waipukurau Rotary Club Facebook page.

Locals are being warned of a possible scammer calling homes pretending to be from Sky TV.

Yesterday, Central FM was called by a person who had a call from a person supposedly from Sky TV.

She said the person told her that someone was trying to hack into her Sky, and was asked to check how many lights were working on the front of her Sky device.

The person called around five times.

She made a call to Sky TV to see if it was someone from there, but it wasn’t.
