Another lovely evening reviewing the latest play at the “Waipukurau Little Theatre”
‘Allo, ‘Allo, ‘Allo
(Est There Any BODY La?)
I’m going to take a moment to acknowledge the multiple hurdles the Little Theatre faced to get this show going & a reduced rehearsal time too!
Little Theatre President & Director Helen Griffin - thank you - a lot of blood, sweat & tears goes into these shows & we as a community appreciate your hard work.
Perseverance paid off – It was all worth it!
A Classic who done it … (I won’t give away too much)
Old hands new hands & hands in-between came together pulling off another great viewer experience on the local stage.
Sir Malcolm (Rob Blamires) & Smalls (Lindsay Bishop) both very at home on the little theatre stage – the wise owls who never disappoint.
Mabel (Juliette Griffen) Lady Amelia (Kate Taylor) & Sides (Isobel Lloyd)
Great energy, expression & engaging performances from all ladies thoroughly enjoyed your characters. Fickey (Chris Scanlan) what can I say – You radiated humor throughout expect to be left in fits!!! The comic element from this character was a standout for me.
Special mention to “Cam Davis” who took on two roles Officer Eve & French Maid Fifi switching between voices & costumes would have been no easy task – we applaud you! Audience you are in for a treat the couch scene is one to look forward to.
Lighting & Sound – Great to see young emerging talent the fog, lighting & sound effects were pulled off perfectly these elements crucial when creating a successful play.
Half time had Kristy & I putting our heads together desperately trying to work out who the killer was – we both could not agree & in the end we were both wrong!
A play full of twists & turns expect the unexpected, summed up in three words by my sidekick
Kristy: “Humorous, Intriguing & Surprising”
I have to say “accurate though”
