The Centralines CHB Wakely Shield side has booked a place in the plate final today following a win over Wairoa yesterday.

Yesterday’s game saw CHB have a 12-10 lead at the half time break, with first half tries scored by James Anderson and Nick Kuklinski.

In the second half, tries were scored by Cleveland Walker, Ollie Merridew, and Mac Ward to give CHB the win 29-15.

Today, in the Leahy Plate final, they will play the new Mana Kotiro team with kick-off at midday at Tareha Reserve in Taradale.

It is quarter finals time in the Bunnings Warehouse NPC with the Hawke’s Bay Magpies making their way to Tauranga to take on Bay of Plenty.

The game kicks-off at 2.05pm Sunday from the Tauranga Domain.

A fundraiser for the Takapau Health Centre re-build is being held tomorrow.

A car and bike show is on at the Takapau Rugby Grounds from 10.30am to 3pm, with a number of family-fun activities planned throughout the day.

Entry is by gold coin donation.

Tomorrow night a Dance Party fundraiser is also being held at the Takapau Town Hall beginning at 6pm, with a $10 entry fee.

A steady stream of people have cast their early votes for next weekend’s General Election.

Advance voting places opened locally on Monday this week at The Hub in Dannevirke and at the Waipukurau Library meeting room.

Pahiatua’s advance voting place, at the Town Hall, opened on Wednesday.

For those wanting to cast their votes this weekend, The Hub will be open from 10am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday, the Waipukurau Library from 9am to 1pm Saturday, and the Pahiatua Town Hall from 10am to 3pm both Saturday and Sunday.

The A W Parsons Meeting Room in Waipukurau will also be open this Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

Next week, further advance voting places will open.
