A wet few days are on the way for local areas.
Rain is forecast today through until Sunday before sunshine returns on Monday.
A Heavy Rain Watch is in place for northern Hawke’s Bay and the western ranges of the region from 6am today until 6am tomorrow.
Metservice forecasters say periods of heavy rain and amounts may approach warning criteria.

The 34th annual Dannevirke Host Lions Book Sale kicks-off today.
The Dannevirke Town Hall is packed with thousands of fiction and non-fiction books, with 26 categories of non-fiction for book lovers.
Lions have also had numerous donations of jigsaw puzzles, CD’s, and magazines for the sale.
The doors open at 9am today, with the sale running from 9am to 5pm today and tomorrow, and from 10am to 2pm Sunday.

Bogle Brothers Esplanade in Waipukurau will be closed for about 12 hours tomorrow to allow for minor repair work on the road to be undertaken.
Downer says temporary traffic management and detours will be in place from 6am until around 6pm to allow for the work.
Detours will be via Ruataniwha Street.
The work was scheduled to be done early last month however heavy rain delayed it.

The Central Hockey Club will hold its Club Day tomorrow.
All four of the Club’s teams will be in action, with the first game between the Reserve Men and Napier Tech at 12.30pm.
The Club welcomes all supporters tomorrow to the Centralines Sports Turf.
