Police have revealed more details about a pursuit last Saturday.
Senior Constable Andy Walker said the vehicle being pursued had been reported stolen from Palmerston North.
Dannevirke Police had begun pursuing the vehicle, with CHB staff joining the pursuit on SH2.
Mr Walker said the pursuit was stopped as the manner of driving was very dangerous.
The vehicle was followed through to Hastings, with Police there unsuccessful in stopping it.
Mr Walker said enquiries are continuing to locate the vehicle and the alleged offenders.

A recent fundraiser at the Civic Theatre in Waipukurau for the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ raised just over $1600 for the charity.
The movie and afternoon tea was attended by nearly 100 people on Mother’s Day.
Organiser, Shelly Birdsall, said the $1650 raised exceeded the fundraising goal.
She thanked all of those who attended the event, and businesses who sponsored the day including Bidfood Hawke’s Bay, Lindauer Wine, Whittakers Chocolate, Tihei Tamatea, and Unichem Waipukurau.

The Tararua District Council is reminding those who haven’ yet filled out Cyclone Gabrielle Impact Assessment Survey to do so before this Friday.
The Council says answers to the survey will help advocate to government what the biggest impacts and needs are, and to plan for recovery support going forward.
A link to the survey is available on the Councils website or social media, with the Council giving away five $100 New World vouchers.
