The Tararua District Council has temporarily removed water restrictions for the Dannevirke township.

The Council is encouraging residents to fill up their pools and water tanks, complete jobs like water blasting while there are no restrictions, as it is almost certain that some level of restrictions will be required later in the year.

Dannevirke’s Impounded Supply is currently operating at a maximum height of 9.5 metres on the advice of engineers.

The supply is still leaking, with a long-term solution being worked on.
