The Tararua District Council has finalised its representation arrangements for the 2022 and 2025 Local Body Elections.

The Council began reviewing arrangements at the end of June, and asked for public submissions, but received none. At the next two elections, the Council will comprise nine members elected from three wards, and the Mayor.                       

Four Councillors will be elected from each of the North and South Wards, and one member from a new Maori Ward, Tamaki-nui-a-Rua.

Uncertainty over COVID Alert Levels will see the Central Hawke’s Bay A & P Show join the likes of the Hawke’s Bay Show and be cancelled for 2021.

The CHB A & P Committee met last night to discuss whether November’s Show would go ahead, following the Alert Level announcement from the Government on Monday.

As there was uncertainty as to whether CHB would be at Alert Level 1 on the 13th of November, the decision was made to cancel.

Yesterday’s results from the 2021 Ross Shield Tournament in Hastings :

The Silver Fern Farms Central Hawke’s Bay team lost 38-nil against Hastings East.  East lead 24-nil at half-time.

The Napier – Wairoa game was taken out by Napier, 54-nil.

The Scanpower sponsored Dannevirke team was beaten by Hastings West 48—nil.  Wests had been up 19-nil at halftime.

Today will see Napier and Dannevirke play at 11am; Wairoa and CHB at 1pm; and the two Hastings sides meet at 3pm.

Shane Mullany, who is part of the Central coaching team, said despite yesterday’s result, there were a lot of positives from the team for them to work on going forward.
