Ticket sales have been strong for a “Support for Ukraine” fundraiser being held tonight.

Local musicians Harry Twinn and the MonotonesNZ will play at the Copperpot Bar in Waipukurau.

Harry says the idea for the fundraiser came from his cousin, who has been driving to Ukraine to ferry women, children and sometimes pets, back to the UK.

He says so far she has ferried about 20 people out of Ukraine.

Tickets for the event cost $10, and will start at 8 o’clock tonight.
