Local CHB Winemakers At Lime Rock
Eight of Hawkes Bay’s top boutique wineries will showcase their wines at the picturesque Lime Rock vineyard, Waipawa on 27th November .
Wine lovers will be able to sniff, swirl and sip while enjoying music from “Savornine” – Jacqui Thompson and Jeff Reid in the morning and Helen Carver and friends from Dannevirke in the afternoon. Pizzas from Zinc Café, and a barbeque from Argyll East School with coffee from the Paper Mulberry will complement the wine.
The event will be a first for Central Hawke’s Bay following a number of hugely successful fairs at wineries in Hastings and Te Awanga .
Wineries will have wine for sampling and sales including library wines, special one-offs, summer and Christmas specials.
The Hawke’s Bay Boutique Winemakers Group is made up of small owner operator wineries from throughout the region producing no more than 8000 cases of wine annually.
de la terre winemaker Tony Prichard, who has handcrafted his own earth brick winery and cellar door at Crownthorpe, will be at Lime Rock.
‘Meet the Makers is an excellent way to introduce my wines to Central Hawke’s Bay.
“Our wines are largely traditional with emphasis on minimal handling to retain the integrity and concentration of fruit.”
The wineries attending the event include Tukipo River Estate, de la terre Winery, Hawkes Ridge Wine Estate, Ash Ridge Wines, BushHawk Vineyard, Beach House Wines, Lime Rock Wines and Pukeora Estate.
