CHB College Netball Club are looking for Coaches and Managers for this coming netball season for all their college teams. Anyone who may be interested please phone Shaye Simpson at the college.

 

 

 

A NOTE TO ALL LANE SWIMMERS: Due to the amount of school swimming sports being held at the Waipukurau pool over the next couple of weeks, please phone ahead of time to check weather pool will be available for lane swimming.

Monday 8th March - Students who have high academic aspirations are invited along with their Parents/Caregivers to Central Hawke's Bay College NCEA Endorsement Evening.
The evening will recognise the 2009 NCEA achievements of students at level one and two and provide information that will support students aspiring to achieve improved NCEA results in 2010.  Guest speaker will be Mark Cleary an educational authority with leadership

Wednesday 10th March – Meat & Wool NZ Tararua Monitor Farm Annual Seminar. This is the 3rd and final seminar of the 3 Monitor Farms, an event not to be missed. Being held at the Dannevirke Sports Club – Showgrounds 10:30am start.For further enquiries contact Christine Donald 3744266 

 

Thursday 11th March – Dannevirke Lions Fundraising event: Shearing ‘Shrek’ – John Walshe. This event is fundraising for Dannevirke children with cancer. John has been growing his fleece for 15 years and on Thursday 11th  it will be all coming off. You can guess the weight of his fleece for $2. The Shear Off will take place beside the Fairbother clock tower at 5:30pm.

Saturday 13th March – Omakere District Full Day Trek. To be held at Te Mata Farm, 1004 Longrange Rd, Omakere. 9am-5pm(approx). $40 per horse/pony. Cost includes BBQ lunch and dinner after trek. Any enquires to Stephen and Penny Baker 8573933.

Saturday 13th March - Ngati Kahungunu Regional Kapa Haka Competition 2010. Te Aute College, S.H.W 2, 10am start. Adults $12  children $6 and under 5yrs gold coin donation. Tickets are now on sale or can be purchased on the day. Contact Marge Hape 8587206 for more details.

Saturday 13th March – The Parents and Friends Group of St Joseph’s School are holding a Garage Sale/Cake Stall Saturday 13th March from 9am-11am. It is being held at the tennis courts at St Joseph’s School. There will be lots of bargains for everyone and plenty of scrumptious cakes and slices!

Saturday27thMarch-Argyll East School will be hosting a Golf Fun Day Event at Waipawa Golf Club on
Saturday 27 March from 11 am.  Over $2000 prizes up for grabs.  Get a team
of 3 together or we will put a team together for you.  Entry forms
available from Bruce at Johnson Electrical, Waipukurau or from James at
Laver & Wood in Waipawa or you can also call Florrie in Otane on 856 8486
for forms and further information.  Tickets cost $30 and include food,
refreshment and automatic entry for prizes.

Saturday 27th March – What a Woman Wants! Learn what to wear and how to wear it. An evening of inspiration with wardrobe stylist Lisa O’Neill, as seen on TVNZ Good Morning show. Friday 16th & Saturday 17th April – Central Hawkes Bay Lions Bookarama. 9am – 4pm at the Waipukurau Memorial Hall. Please support this annual event by donating your surplus books, puzzles, etc. Drop off points are at Winloves Retravision, WM Story, Waipawa service station and the Otane Store. Wednesdays - Norsewood Family Playgroup meet every Wednesday at Norsewood School from 10am to noon.  New families welcome.  (ages 0-5)  Enquiries to Angela Rosacker 374 0427.

Waipawa Mainly Music sessions are held at St Johns Church, Kenilworth St on Fridays at 9.30am.  $2 per family.  Fun, interactive music sessions for young children and their parents/caregivers.

Waipawa Community Craft market opposite BP in High Street open 10-2 weekdays and 10-12 Saturday.  Something for everyone - home preserves, home spun wool, alpaca items, knitting wool, sheepskins, plants and much more.  Always looking for contributors and volunteers.  Also if your organisation would like to be considered for a donation from the profits, put our request in writing to the Secretary.
